H'okay. So. Let's nevermind that I had an audition tonight and they want me in the show (which I am pretty excited about, yes).
I have randomly decided to go to an audition for which I am completely unprepared, which is this weekend. I will need:
1) A prepared monologue. Do I go with the one I already know pretty well and have workshopped, but am getting kind of tired of, or the one I've been wanting to try out for a while (starts at the bottom, "remember when we were kids", ends at "don't you want to stop falling?"), but don't know very well and haven't had any kind of direction on?
2) A prepared song. The Broadway one I sort of practiced once upon a time, which, if I could pull it off, would show my vocal range pretty admirably, or the not-Broadway one I think I could do justice to, but doesn't really vary too much in vocal range?
3) Improv skillz. Oh Jesus, I haven't really attempted improv since... Acting II, in spring of '06, and before that, not since Kids-N-CO. classes at Radford and when was that, '04?
4) A short, clean stand-up act. I don't know any good jokes! I can't write comedy! I have until 2:40 on Saturday to come up with a comedy routine (or do the jokes they provide... lame). Oh god, oh god, I'm just going to die!
The best part, as Marc pointed out, is, since this is presumably an Idol type thing, if I bomb, it will be on National Television. (Hi there Mr. Comma, how are you doing?)
Also, how in hell am I going to get out of being at work during a Hell Week not once but twice (I have to Usher the next day at about the same time)?
