And so it starts. Stella picked me up. Rehearsal went well enough. The light board hadn't been programmed yet, so there wasn't really a whole lot for me to do today. Austin came up and looked at the plot 'cause there are a few black holes onstage. We talked some about lighting theory and the kinds of shows he thinks would work better (be less technically draining) on the Playhouse's stage. He laughed when I told him we did Stephen Dietz's Dracula (it's a lighting nightmare, especially on a stage as small as the Playhouse's. I don't know how Kevin, Don, and Oscar pulled it off). Austin is surprising interesting. --Actually, I don't know why I'm so surprised, considering what I've seen him perform...

Anyway, yeah, not much for me to do tonight. I'm going to have to get on Callie about the mess she left the booth in though. None of the lights up there plugged in, the sound system all messed up... Ah well... It's all fixed now and tomorrow Chet and Yvonne should have everything set for me. Hurrah.

We all went over to Adrianne's afterward 'cause it was Sean's birthday. Mmm, I love hanging out with the cast after a good rehearsal/show. Darryl showed us his website and then I of course showed off mine. Adrianne made strawberry cake. Austin, Manny, and Adrianne talked about shows they've done with UTEP in the past -- apparently the ACTF performance of Idol got waaaaaaaaay out of hand and most of the cast ended up bloody and the set was wrecked.

Darryl gave me a ride home. We talked about Warcraft and various other geeky things. Heeh.

Had a test in Poli Sci today, think I did all right. Went over to the Fox to hang out 'til I was supposed to meet with Gene. Found Lulu and Danny waiting for Charley and Ruben to get out of the show (student performance) and they invited me to come to lunch with them. It was about half an hour 'til the show got out and then we went to Nothing But Noodles.Ruben invited me to come to his anti-Valentines party next week. I would like to go muchly, but he lives out in Horizon, so getting there may be trouble. He said we'd work something out.

Got back a little late, but Gene didn't mind too much. We blocked out our scene and decided to meet again on Thursday at 2:30 and to try and be mostly offbook by then. Sappy as the scene may be, it's short and simple, so getting offbook shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Got cast in one of the Directing class's shows; Jason's doing The Sin Eater and he wants me, Yaz, and Samantha. Yay, I guess... I don't know anything about The Sin Eater except everyone says it's really weird... least I get to work with Yaz and Samantha... We're supposedly having a meeting about it on Friday.

Karla found a tiny pittbull puppy and is looking for someone who can take him. She says the puppy's like 7 weeks old and very cute and sweet, but she can't keep him because of her dogs and she doesn't want to take him the humane society or the pound. I said I'd see what my parents say. Joe says ask Mommy. Mommy's not home yet. EDIT: Mum says no. *sigh* Anybody want a puppy?

Rehearsal tonight went well. Still getting gliches worked out, but it looks good. Hopefully it'll all be kickin' after tomorrow night.
