Sep. 8th, 2009 01:19 pmJust attempted to explain the Wii to an elderly library patron. I think he got it...
Today is a long day. The first long day in a series of long days that will become my life, I believe. I started actual work at the Y today. I had to wake up at 6am, after not being able to sleep until 1am. There was an attempt last week to train myself to be awake by 7, but the weekend pretty much ruined that, and subtracting an hour was a lot rougher than it should have been. Daylight Savings cannot end soon enough (and I was just reminded that it's pretty much two more months before it does... *sigh*).
I think I'm holding out pretty well so far, although exhaustion is definitely catching up with me. I got ready for work in just enough time to get there, did two hours, was released. I have a two hour gap between my morning shift and my classes, and I've decided to actually use my Y membership, so I jetted over to the Y-proper for my first yoga class in over two years. It went pretty well, I think, although my legs were shaking like crazy toward the end. Then I barely made it to campus in time for my class, and I had to go up a long, steep flight of stairs, which didn't help my legs. After the 1-hour lecture portion of class we have a twenty minute break, and then we break up into groups for two hours of crew work. I'm on lights crew, which doesn't have a lot to do right now and will have to come in on weekends in a couple weeks, so we're getting Tuesday and Thursday afternoons off until Tech Week.
I ordered my school parking permit two weeks ago, but it hasn't come yet, so I didn't want to stay on campus too long, for fear of parking ticket (didn't get one), so now I'm at the public library. I have to be back at work at 3pm, so I have a little time to kill. I should probably be working on my math homework instead of dabbling on the internet. I'm probably going to be too tired by the time I get off work to think properly to do math. I have three segments due on Friday, and a quiz due by Sunday, and there's not much chance I'll get any of it done tomorrow (rehearsing in the morning between work and class, have to stay the two crew hours, going to see 9 after work), and definitely no chance of anything getting done after Thursday night (hanging with
blue_like_me all weekend). So I really should at least get started on it now... Just worried I won't have enough time to make any headway... But a start is better than no work at all, right?
God, I already feel exhaustion setting in.
