Nov. 5th, 2008 10:22 amI am so happy with today. Not so pleased about Prop-8 of course; somewhat surprised and saddened that there are still so many bigots in my state when it seemed like everywhere people were campaigning against it. Oh well. I still feel like a new world has suddenly turned up.
What else?
I went to work last night. On my lunch I walked over to Dublin Square and said hi to the team. They cheered when I walked in, which was awesome. Heeh. I couldn't stay long, but I was like "come see me at work!!" So about an hour later, I was serving a couple of customers and one of them was like "I think you have an audience..." and I turned around and there were Dwight, Dave, Dave, Christina, Desiree, Pete, Kate, Matt, Krissy, and Al all with their hands and faces pressed up against the window. Funniest thing ever. Then they came in and I gave them samples and Dwight actually bought something, and Krissy admired the pebble floor and the Alessi, and it was very nice to see them all. Apparently they came in second. Hopefully next time I will be able to be with them to secure first place. That'd be awesome. ;p
Aside from that, work was pretty dead, even with the Madonna concert going on a block away. On the one hand, great 'cause one person never showed up and one called out, so it was just me and Shift Lead J. On the other hand, I was alone with Shift Lead J all night, and she bugs me. But, she gave me a ride home, so I will not speak more ill of her. I think I would like her more if we were equals at work, but what can you do? Also, since it was only the two of us, it took over an hour to close. Ugh.
But all I have to do today is school, and that's pretty awesome. Have I mentioned I'm stage managing the show we've been working on? It kind of came about suddenly last week, but it's a pretty simple show to stage manage. I just feel bad 'cause there are three performances I have to miss. One I've missed already (last Sunday), and then there's this Saturday, and next Saturday. But hey, previous engagements from before I was randomly chosen to be stage manager, and, like I said, really easy show to manage. I just hope last Sunday went alright...
Hm... still a little sleepy... to go back to bed for a little bit before school, or to just tough it out? Decisions, decisions...
Oh yeah, last night's thought before bed: "Hey, it finally feels like fall! ... Oh god, it finally feels like fall. *hides under blankets*"
