This evening I went to see The Fall with Dwight, Amber, Lindy, Dave, and Pete.
Wow. Sooo pretty. But, not only pretty, also a rather good story. The plot as a whole is simple, but awesome, and the story that Roy tells Alexandria, while obviously flawed in places, is perfect because the flaws show how he's making it up as he goes along to tell to a little kid. It doesn't need logic (unless Alexandria says it does), it just needs to happen, and it does so beautifully. The locations were breathtaking and gorgeously filmed. The thoughts on stunt work in the 1920s were very interesting indeed (moreso than the barely even touched upon plight of the migrant workers of the time). Lee Pace was amazing; there's no trace of either of the roles I've seen him play before, but he is genuinely sweet even as he's deceptive, and so achingly heartbroken at times. I may suddenly have a thing for him. The little girl is adorable, and she and Pace have a really great dynamic.
Beautiful movie, highly recommend, would watch again.
