Dear Fanpoodles of the Firefly/Harry Potter/other fandoms where major characters DIE,
That character you love? IS DEAD. You CANNOT discount his death just because it makes YOU unhappy. IT HAPPENED. Whether the death seems pointless to you or not, the author had a reason, whether we see it or not. Wash DIED. He was impaled and is DEAD. This changes things in the Firefly-verse SIGNIFICANTLY. Fuck you and your AUs which use the entire movie EXCEPT that one little bit you can't seem to get your head around. Sirius? Also DEAD. This one is up to slightly more debate, since he fell through a fucking curtain, but if the other characters currently accept him as dead, you should too. Although Sirius, unlike Wash, can come back within the means and physics of his story. If you want to write an AU, don't just say "that one bit I don't like didn't happen", change the ENTIRE story to accomodate! Do not dishonor this character by taking his death away and slapping on an AU sticker. It just shows how little you really appreciate the story, the author, or even the character.
No love,
